Why Traditional Lessons Don’t Always Work for Kids…
In most cases, guitar lessons are 30 mins long which is barely long enough to tune the guitar, warm up the fingers. The kids only have time to show what they practiced at home, and quickly learn something new. Then they have to go home and practice…
Very often, the guitar lessons are boring, the teachers are not able to stimulate the children. This kills motivation, and a child might quit learning guitar.
Does it sound familiar?
What’s worse, the guitar lessons are boring, the teachers are not able to stimulate the children. This kills motivation, and a child might quit learning guitar.
This is how many guitar dreams die before they even get started.
At Linkou Guitar Lessons
we do it differently.
Our guitar lessons are 1 hour long.
We do keep in mind that music can be a very important part of a kid’s childhood.
From the beginning, a kid must develop a love for music.
We have eliminated the “homework” and the “School like” things. We do not force kids to start learning on acoustic guitar if their dream is to play on an electric guitar.
At The Heart of Our Approach:
Our ultimate goal is to motivate, encourage the kids, and make each lesson fun!
Because Learning and Playing Guitar Should BeFun!
Why?
Kids learn best when they are having fun!
This approach allows the kids to keep interest in learning guitar. This will help to develop their love for music and drive them forward.
If your child has an interest in guitar, the main job of a guitar teacher is to keep this interest intact! So, each lesson has to be fun and interesting!
What Do Our Students Say?
“I’m really happy because, in just four lessons, the teacher taught me — someone who knew nothing at all — how to play “Ode to Joy.” I truly enjoyed learning guitar together with the teacher!” – Justin (10 years old) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Learning to play the guitar offers many benefits for kids, both musically and personally. Music helps children grow up in ways that go beyond just playing an instrument. Music helps kids to develop non-musical skills such as self-confidence, patience, perseverance, and discipline.

Frequently asked questions
At what age children can start learning guitar?
It varies from child to child, but in general, fine motor skills are not ready until (at the earliest) the age of 8. Most children do better starting around age 9 or 10, when they can hold the instrument more comfortably and follow instructions more easily. That said, every child is different — feel free to contact us so we can talk about your child’s situation.
Should my child learn the basics before starting lessons?
Actually, it’s even better if your child is starting completely from scratch. The first steps on the guitar are very important — that’s when habits begin to form. If those habits aren’t guided properly from the start, they can be hard to correct later. Instead of picking up random tips online or trying to figure things out alone, having a teacher from the beginning helps build a strong and healthy foundation for playing.
Do you also teach older children and teenagers?
Absolutely! Older children and teenagers are very welcome in our lessons. At that age, they often have a clearer idea of the music they enjoy, which makes learning even more fun and motivating. Whether they want to play their favorite songs, join a school band, or understand how music works, we’ll guide them step by step with a structured approach that matches their goals and interests.
We don’t have a guitar yet. Is that a problem?
Not at all! If your child is interested in starting lessons but you haven’t bought a guitar yet, we can first meet for a free trial lesson. During that session, I’ll help you choose the right type and size of guitar that fits your child’s needs. It’s better to decide together than to buy something that might not be suitable.
